Hi. John Candy has brought me joy and happiness for over 30 years now. He was without doubt, one of the greatest comedian/actors of all time. I will always enjoy his wonderful legacy through his great, prolific body of work. He was one of the finest and kindest gentlemen who ever lived. I miss him so very much. God Bless John Candy and his family. I love you, John. Thank you for bringing me much joy and happiness. You will always remain in my heart.

What a truly funny man. You have been and will continue to be, sadly missed. I still love watching Planes, Trains and after all these years still laugh out loud.

I just happened to put his name in and found out it is the anniversary of his death. Like watching those SCTV reruns that are being played now.

Steve Fri, 4 Mar '11
I saw elsewhere this was the anniversary of his death. I met John at a convention in Las Vegas, I guess 20 years ago now. He had been hired by a sponsoring company to greet folks in a hospitality suite. We chatted for a very short time about his work. I asked for an autograph, and he signed a map I was carrying: "Steve, thanks for the acting lessons! John Candy"

Like Allan says here, I could not believe how nice he was.

Hello John, seventeen years ago you left us but your memory is still alive. I grew up with your movies, between smiles and laughter, you were an amazing actor. With love, Dario from Italy

Continue to make the angels and God laugh in heaven. God took you way too soon, but you are at peace. My favorite movie of yours was "Only the Lonely"
RIP John forever

it might be 2011 and there may have been some great films in the last 20 yrs including some great comedies but nobody has yet beaten Planes. trains & automobiles...it stands the test of time. Uncle Buck and the great outdoors is excellent too. His smile and his personality came across on screen. A larger than life character and i for one miss him on the screen.
RIP Big guy

John, a really delightful man has made me laugh out loud in every film. Planes Trains + Automobiles remains one of the best as too is Uncle Buck.
